Teatro alla Scala of Milan is one of the worlds' most famous theatres which is situated on one of the historic plazas: Piazza della Scala, where it has its name from.
The Piazza however takes its name from the nearby church Santa Maria della Scala being built in 1381 and destryed in 1778 only to create space for the theatre.
The show program is composed of lyrical opera, ballets and concerts of classic music.
